Services for everyone

  • Ophthalmic Check-Up

Regular check-ups guarantee early diagnosis and timely treatment of eye problems before they become vision-threatening. It also allows us to suggest solutions for common everyday difficulties with your vision that you might not have even imagined! We perform preventive macula OCT, glasses measurement, eye pressure check, examination for cataracts and glaucoma, fundus examination, presbyopia correction, etc.

  • Cataract

Cataract is the clouding of the lens inside the eye and can potentially affect all of us as we pass the age of 65. It leads to reduced and poor quality vision that makes everyday activities such as driving and reading difficult, but is completely reversible surgically. We perform a detailed examination of both the cataract and the fundus of the eye and offer a thorough discussion of all modern surgical options for post surgical spectacle independence.

  • Pediatric Eye Examination

Did you know that if in the early years of life the brain does not receive clear images from one eye it will never develop properly? If not treated on time, that eye will never be able to reach its true visual potential. That is why a thorough eye examination is recommended at 6 months, 3 and 6 years of age. Vision screening, spectacle measurement, strabismus and amblyopia testing, colour perception and stereoscopic vision testing, funduscopy and cycloplegia are performed.

  • Prescription Eyeglasses

More often than not, the "simple" things are also very important. We pay attention to accurate measurement and correct prescription of glasses and contact lenses that are tailored to each patient's needs and ensure excellent vision for long and short distances without causing dizziness. Prescriptions are made for monofocal, multifocal and mesopic glasses and single, toric and multifocal contact lenses for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia.

  • Glaucoma

Glaucoma is the most common cause of irreversible blindness with 80 million sufferers worldwide. It is a progressive deterioration of the optic nerve that is most often associated with elevated intraocular pressure. Prevention is vital since, if we intervene early, vision loss can be avoided. We perform a detailed diagnosis with intraocular pressure measurement, visual fields, optic disc OCT, pachymetry and gonioscopy and provide individualized management plans. We offer the full range of treatment options with lasers, antiglaucoma drops, "modern" (MIGS) and "traditional" surgeries.

  • Myopia Laser Treatment

Give yourself the best gift by upgrading your quality of life. Get rid of your glasses and contact lenses and see the world with "a different eye"! We perform a thorough preoperative test to ensure safe laser application and to select the most suitable method for each individual patient. We provide correction of myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia with the latest generation of excimer lasers and no touch techniques.

  • Macular Degeneration

The macula is a small part of the retina at the back of the eye. It is only 5 mm in diameter, but it is responsible for our central vision, colour perception and the details of what we see. A healthy macula has a very high concentration of photoreceptors, the cells that detect light and send signals to the brain, which, in turn, interprets them as images. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common condition of advanced age and can lead to loss of central vision. This makes everyday activities such as reading and recognising faces difficult. We carry out a full examination with funduscopy and OCT and proceed with appropriate treatment.

  • Cosmetic Ophthalmology

In the 1970s, American ophthalmologist Dr. Alan Scott was the first to use Botulinum toxin for medical purposes. A decade later the drug was approved for the treatment of strabismus and blepharospasm, and nowadays it is mainly used in aesthetic medicine. We carry out injectable treatments (Botox) to treat annoying wrinkles on the face and around the eyes following formal training at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.

  • Presbyopia Treatment

In presbyopia, which affects practically everyone after the age of 45, the lens of the eye loses its flexibility and focusing on close objects becomes difficult. The most commonway to treat it is glasses (simple monofocal reading glasses or glasses that also offer good vision at longer distances such as multifocals and bifocals). Contact lenses can also be used in presbyopia (multifocal contacs and monovision with contact lenses - where one eye is corrected for distance and the other for near). However, it is the surgical solutions that are gaining ground and offer the best results. Lasers can be used to create monovision, while refractive lens exchange (RLE), which replaces the natural lenses of the eyes with artificial lenses, allows the use of presbyopic lenses (EDOF, Trifocal, Monofocal plus) for the greatest possible independence from glasses at all distances. Come to discuss in detail all the options specifically for you!

  • e-Prescription

Are you insured with EOPYY? If so, you are entitled to reduced cost for your drops and other medicines and 100€ reimbursement for glasses every 4 years! We carry out electronic prescription of medicines, examinations and glasses or contact lenses for children and adults.

  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

OCT is the most modern method of non-invasive imaging of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. The doctor uses OCT to obtain high-resolution images of the inside of the eye that help to accurately diagnose and safely monitor the treatment of a multitude of important eye diseases. OCT of the macula, optic nerve, cornea and anterior chamber angle are performed.

  • Visual Field Testing

Automated perimetry uses a computer software to analyze a person's field of vision. The visual field test detects peripheral vision loss and produces a map along with a statistical analysis of that loss, thus helping to diagnose and monitor glaucoma and many neuro-ophthalmic conditions. We perform all modern testing protocols depending on the condition to be investigated.

  • Driving Licence Certificate

We are contracted by the Department of Transport and provide a health certificate for the issue or renewal of a driving licence. Visual acuity, binocular vision, strabismus and colour perception testing are carried out, along with a coarse visual field assessment and check of the optic nerve and macula.

  • Fundoscopy - Diabetic Retinopathy

The fundus of the eye is the inner, posterior surface of the eye and consists of the retina, macula, optic disc and retinal vessels. A funduscopy is a direct view of the fundus of the eye that allows your doctor to detect degenerative, vascular, inflammatory and hereditary diseases of the retina and optic nerve. Diabetic Retinopathy is the most common vascular disease of the macula and one of the leading causes of blindness in developed countries. We perform a complete examonation with funduscopy and OCT and provide a written consultation for your endocrinologist.

  • Home Visits

For patients who cannot come to the office and can only be examined at home or the care unit, bedside examination is available. A basic eye examination is performed with portable equipment to achieve the best possible visual function.

  • Laser Treatments, Surgeries, Intravitreal Injections

Scientific research and advances in technology make Ophthalmology one of the most modern medical specialties with a variety of available high-tech treatment modalities . Our doctor performs laser correction of myopia-astigmatism-hypermetropia, laser prevention or treatment of glaucoma (LPI, SLT), laser treatment of secondary cataract and retinal lasers. Also, cataract and glaucoma surgeries with the most modern techniques as well as minor procedures for the removal of pterygia, chalazia, eyelid morphomas, etc. are carried out. In addition, we offer intravitreal injections for the treatment of degenerative and vascular diseases of the macula.

  • Dry Eyes - Blepharitis

Ocular surface disease, which includes Dry Eye Disease and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (blepharitis) among others, is a common condition that occurs when tears do not provide adequate lubrication to your eyes. The tear layer is unstable either because not enough tears are produced or because the tears are of poor quality, resulting in blurred vision and red eyes that sting or burn. These symptoms are worsened when you are in an air-conditioned room or when using screens. We follow the TFOS DEWS II guidelines for diagnosing the type of condition and treating it effectively.

  • Cornea

This is the transparent window through which we can see and at the same time the tissue with the most nerve endings in the human body! From injuries and infections to hereditary disorders and degenerative diseases, many conditions threaten its clarity and lead to blurred vision. We perform precise diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases.
